Kimchi Mermaid lenses in gold

Gosh I'm so over due! I've been working on getting a job (which yay I finally have one) and finishing up my phlebotomy registration (which yay I'm done with! So now I can legally draw blood ^-^) but now it's time to get you a much needed review.

These lenses were sponsored by the lovely people over at lensvillage. This of course does not change my opinion of the lenses nor does it alter my opinion of the store. As always, I do my best to take the most accurate and clear photographs of the lenses so that you may see for yourself what they will look like in real life. Now then, onto the review!

Details:

base curve: 8.6
diameter: 16mm (not actual, which I would place at about 14.8 - 15 mm)
make: Kimchi Mermaid
color: Gold
water content: 55%

Review:

color/design: 4/5  The design looks almost like a reptile in this particular color, but in a cute way. lol thats the best way I can explain it. I think that I would like them a lot more if the blended out in the middle a little more, but because the center of my eye is already pretty gold in color, the blending isn't that big of an issue. From the stock photo, I thought that the lenses where going to have gold and green in them, but as you can see from the actual lens photo, that really isn't the case. Instead they are gold with areas of clear lens that lets your natural color show through (which in my case, is green anyway). This also helps blend it out a bit and makes them look more of a yellow green then a true gold. I can see myself wearing these on occasion as a change of pace but I don't think that these will be a go to lens of mine.

comfort: 4.5/5 These are pretty comfy for me. Not as comfy as geo's (which I know many people disagree about) but a little more comfy then my EOS lenses. The water content is pretty up there so they are very soft lenses.

enlargement: 5/5 Yup, these suckers enlarge a bunch. I'm sure this is apparent in the comparison photo. :P

vendor: 5/5 Yes, lensvillage did sponsor these lenses so I can't say anything as far as the billing process, but I can tell you that the woman I talked to was just adorable and super sweet and helpful. I was actually in contact with them while I was waiting to board my plane to Jamaica and they were super quick to respond and understanding. Shipping took about 2 weeks to get to me which is pretty typical for receiving lenses to the US. They have a huge selection of lenses and some prices that are hard to beat for in stock lenses. So while I didn't purchase these particular pair, I'm not gonna lie I am eyeballing some of there colorvue lenses (some are silver or gold.. which already has me thinking new years fun :P)

So there you have it! Sorry I haven't been posting enough.. it is not for lack of things to say. :P I have another pair that lensvillage sponsored me as well and so I am determined to get a review up for those in the next couple of days!

As always, make sure to follow my blog and comment to let me know what you think! What do you like, what do you not like, what do you want to see next?

I'm out for now,
Cheers!

Review:

color/design: 4/5 If only the color went closer to the pupil, then these would be just really lovely! I do still like them though. From a distance, they look like a greyish pink. So far these are the only pink lenses that blend in quite well with my natural green. The limbal ring is also pretty thick and I would prefer is to be slightly thinner, but it isn't too bad. The limbal ring does prevent any sort of halo effect, as you can see above.

comfort: 4.5/5 These are pretty good comfort wise. Can't really feel them in at all and I can wear them for about 4 hours before I throw in some eye drops.

enlargement: 4.5/5 These enlarge pretty well for 14.5mm. They would probably enlarge perfectly for most, but I've been spoiled with 15mm lenses. ^-^

vendor: 5/5 As said in the previous review for the macchiatos, honeycolor was a lovely company to deal with and I would definitely recommend them.

Review:

color/design: 5/5 What can I say? If I could give these a 100/5 for color and design, I would. These are my first pair of brown lenses and they give me the most lovely, big brown puppy dog eye look.  I love that the limbal ring is a dark brown instead of a harsh black and I love love LOVE the pattern. I was afraid that the pattern wasn't going to show up well like many reviews that I've seen, but I was wrong. The pattern shows up perfectly and it is just sooooo gorgeous! Plus the way the swirls blend in with my natural color, it looks like it is suppose to be that way in person so hurray! Soo to sum it up I'm totally in love with these lenses. ^-^

comfort: 4.5/5 Usually geo's are my go to for comfortable lenses. These are relatively comfortable, but dry out in about 4-5 hours, where usually I can keep geo's in all day with no problem at all. I docked .5 points for this, but really it isn't so bad. Throw some eye drops in and I'm good to go.

enlargement: 5/5 These lenses have 3 things going for them in terms of enlargement. 1) They are these geo's, which are known for printing the color super close to the edge 2) They are 15mm diameter, so thats an obvious factor  and 3) They are also a dark color (dark for me anyway) so they pack some serious enlarging power! I absolutely love it! ^-^

vendor: 5/5 I purchased these from www.honeycolor.com and I really highly recommend them! They have a decent variety of lenses for very reasonable prices and the owner is very sweet and a pleasure to deal with. I ordered $100 worth of stuff so I was eligible for the free express shipping, which was super fast! It took just 4 days to get to me in the US and coming from Malasia, that is pretty darn good shipping time.  I also got a free contact lens travel case with my purchase which included an extra case, a mini bottle for solution, tweezers, and a contact spoon. Here are a few photos of my stuff:

The whole order. The lenses are neatly packaged inside of the boxes. Each lens also came with a free animal case.

Instructions for contact insertion and case printed on the back of each box.

The free gift! Hello Kitty!!

Well thats all for now! Time for me to get the ball rolling again on studying. After September 10th (test date) I am determined to have a life again! ^-^ Ciao!

EOS Super Neon G209 Violet

Time for a seriously over due lens review! This was one of the first pair I bought and actually they only have a few more months of life so I figure that I better get this done before they are done for.

duration: 1 year
prescription available: limited prescription available

Review:

color/design: 4/5 Like my problem with the super neon pinks, I wish that these blended in the middle better so there isn't that stark contrast between my green and the contact color.  Still, the pupil hole is small enough that it isn't that big of a deal and my pupil is usually large enough to fill it out pretty well. If you have brown eyes, this obviously won't be a problem for you.  I just love the design of these and this is such a pretty dark purple, I only wish they blended better in the middle. Under night time conditions, these almost look black which I absolutely love!

comfort: 4/5 Also the same as my pinks. Comfy, but not quite as much as geo for me. This is different for everyone so don't base your purchase choices on my opinion. Many people think that EOS are much more comfortable then geo's, but as I said.. everyone is different. I contemplate on not even rating this section.

enlargement: 4/5 Again same as my pinks. Nice enlargement. No where near my 15mm's, but I don't want that big all the time and so these are a nice middle ground.

vendor: 5/5 Got these babies from http://www.kiwiberry1-collection.com/. They are a lovely and trustworthy company. She also has a lot of hard to find lenses, so I'm sure that I will find myself back in her shop. ^-^

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In other news, a close friend came to visit me for a large portion of the summer and I painted her nails really cute! (With a hello kitty!) so I wanted to share an example photograph of that:
crackle with purple glitter underneath and kitty with purple glitter bow
kitty up close
And I painted my own nails to look like strawberries
Sadly by the time I thought to take a photo of my nails, they had already begun chipping. Soooo try to not pay attention to that. ^-^ Anyway I'm to go study some more like the super nerd that I am! Ciao!
Geo Princess Mimi Bambi Series in Sesame Grey
Sorry for being so MIA recently! I have a friend in town and I'm trying to study for my MCAT which I take in September, so I haven't had a good cam-whoring day. I did take photos of my princess mimi's a while ago, but I had forgotten to take a full face photograph so I never posted my review. I would take a full face photograph now, only I had a hair coloring incident yesterday (trying to dye it my natural color to cover up the sun bleached ends, only my friend accidentally grabbed blonde hair dye.. it's no good.) so I'll have to post that part of the review later.
For now here is the review with no full face shot just yet.
/EDIT
Full face shot included! My hair isn't totally fixed, but it is better ^-^
Review:
color/design: 4/5 The color of these are really nice, I only have one issue with them for me. The middle color blends in so much with my natural eye color, you can barely tell that it is there thus making the pupil hole seem larger then it is. From a distance, these make my eyes look like a greyish-green color. On the super plus side, I LOVE the design of the limbal ring and how it spikes inward. These would look really lovely on brown or even light blue eyes.
comfort: 5/5 So far, geo lenses have yet to fail me. Love the comfort on these things!
enlargement: 5/5 In my experience, geo lenses tend to print the color of the lenses right up to the edge (as you can see from the photo of the actual lens) in order to get maximum enlargement. They are just huge! Which I happen to love. ^-^
vendor: 5/5 I ordered these from http://www.fobbybarbie.com/ for a fabulous price. They still have free shipping on these as well and they are in stock in their USA warehouse. It took the lenses 2 days to get to me which it the fastest shipping time that I have experienced so far.
Barbie Dejavu 3 Tone Green
Ok I'm thinking that it is time for another circle lens review! This time, as you may have gathered from the title, I will be reviewing Barbie Dejavu 3 tone lenses in green. This is also the first time that I've done a video review, so please be gentle! I'm reasonable shy and I was super nervous. Please comment to let me know if the video addition is useful! :) Ok on to the review!
Video Review:
Review:
color/design: 3/5 These are pretty, but I was really hoping that they would be lighter color with a thinner limbal ring so that I could achieve a better halo effect (although I do get one still, I wanted a little more drastic of one). To me, they somehow look a little too much like my natural color from far away (but obviously larger.. much larger :P). That can be a good thing if I don't want a drastic color change but I want to just focus on enlargement, that is just not the effect that I had in mind when purchasing these. I will still wear them on occasion, but they are not my favorite green lenses to date.
comfort: 4/5 They are reasonably comfortable, although they feel a little thick so I can sort of tell they are in sometimes, despite the high water content. It doesn't bother me too much and you'll have to take my opinion with a grain of salt, since everyones eyes are different. I also needed eye drops about 4 or 5 hours after I put them in as they started to feel a little dry. Other than that, no problems. :)
enlargement: 5/5 These are 15mm, so you can pretty much expect that they are huge. One thing I did notice was that despite there thicker limbal ring, these don't look quite are enlarging as my Geo Xtra WT-A0 Heart Series (which are also 15mm). Nevertheless, these are quite big and very dolly looking. :) Let me know in the comment section if it would help you to have a comparison photo of those 2 lenses and I would be happy to post one for you. :)
vendor: 5/5 koreabigeyes.com was fabulous! This was my first time purchasing from them and I would gladly do so again. Communication was the best I have experienced, shipping time was reasonable, and the prices are reasonable. Plus they are the only shop that I know that carries the adore lenses, which I think will be my present to myself once I find a job.. haha
Feel free to comment with questions/concerns/suggestions/or to just make me feel the love. :D Now I'm off to eat the delicious bowl of miso that I just made for myself :D:D:D:D
Yum yum!!
